CAT --- METHEDOLOGY TO PREPARE

I have seen a lot of people who don't find a correct methodology to prepare for CAT by IIMs

CAT CONSISTS OF THREE SECTIONS

1)QUANTITATIVE ABILITY

2)DATA INTERPRETATION &

3)VERBAL ABILITY

I'll brief a timeline to do things

(I consider a student want to join mba in 2011 may)

2010 MARCH

- start preparation,join coaching centers -preferably, TIME CAREER LAUNCHER,IMS for weekday classes or week end classes as per your time availability.

-Start preparing with basic materials given by coaching institute(don't think that coaching centre will finish the course before cat reaches in nov/dec; start preparing yourself)

-Start reading THE HINDU, ECONOMIC TIMES etc. ,mainly EDITORIALS.Also subscribe to magazines like Business Today,FRONTLINE.

-If you are not good in verbal ability , buy a barron's worlist(for GRE) start mugging up words from now.Make sure that you read atleast 20 non-fiction books of foreign authors read wide range of topics like Philishophy, Art,Science,Literature etc.

-If you are not good in Quantitative ability and data interpretation, Go to your neighbours' house , see Master Jack who finished his 10th exams this year and ask him to give his maths test and tell him you are going to set question paper for next year's exam.

What I meant is tat somehow manage to get a text book of tenth class and start form basics.

-You can join some of the finest sites like pagalguy.com, testfunda.com...etc fro m where you get priceless experience.

-Do join at least two test series of Career Launcher ,IMS or TIME.

- Form a good group (a study group) for the hardcore preparations and discussions

-meet at free times like in week end and compare your scores.Rectify the errors you have done tin the mocks.
